Real Rates helps Canadian borrowers understand reported mortgage rates and prepare lender conversations. This preview collects information only through the features you choose. The operator’s formal identity, contact details and retention review must be finalized before public launch.

What you choose to share

A rate contribution includes lender, rate, term, province, purpose, stage and event date, plus optional mortgage characteristics. Contribution consent allows reviewed reports and aggregate comparisons. A name or city is shown only with separate display consent. Please use a first name and initial if you choose a public name.

Coaching offers, renewal timing and conversation notes are private unless you separately contribute the rate details. Private notes and conversation history do not appear in the public activity feed. Staff can access records when necessary to operate the service, review reports or handle a request.

Returning without an account

A necessary browser cookie lets you manage your own information. Private resume links can grant access on another device; anyone holding a link can access that journey. Keep them private. You can replace a link, export the journey or delete it. Clearing your browser without saving a link may remove your self-service access.

When you choose a next step from a comparison or contribution, the mortgage profile and any rate you entered are carried within this browser tab so you do not need to type them again. This temporary copy is removed when the next form reads it, expires for reuse after 30 minutes, and is cleared when the tab closes. It contains no notes, name, email or private access link.

Email is a separate choice

The newsletter stores your email, consent history and optional intent, target month, province and preparation preferences. Your email address is not a credential for your mortgage journey. Signup requires address confirmation. Every newsletter has preference and unsubscribe links; unsubscribing stops queued and future marketing messages. Support reply addresses are used for the request, not added to marketing.

Public sources and corrections

Where a permitted source is enabled, we retain source references and only the material needed to review mortgage reports. Public reports do not display scraped usernames. We track revisions and removals, and exclude withdrawn source content from current comparisons. Report a source correction or removal request.

Service providers and security

The application is designed for Cloudflare hosting, database storage and bot verification. When live newsletter delivery is enabled, the configured email provider processes delivery addresses and message content. Private coaching histories are not marketing audience fields. Processing may occur outside Canada; the launch configuration and provider review will identify the applicable services. Server-side access checks protect private resources, and private responses are not cached.

Retention and your choices

Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Private resume links expire after 90 days and browser access after 180 days. Scheduled cleanup removes private journeys after 365 days without a saved change, unconfirmed newsletter addresses seven days after the last confirmation request, aggregate audit records after 30 days, and resolved support requests after 90 days. Cleanup runs in batches, so removal may follow the expiry time. Contributed-record retention, consent records and suppression records remain subject to the final launch policy review; no statutory minimum is claimed.

Deleting a journey removes its live offers and related comparisons. A minimal deletion record supports recovery safeguards; backups expire under the hosting provider’s retention schedule. For access, correction, deletion or a privacy question, use the support inbox. We may need to verify control of the affected information before acting.
